Deva cutting is a technique taught to experienced stylists for curly hair. *We have deva certified stylists within the salon, but to clarify - do not affliate or use Deva products.* A deva cut is very different than a "norm" cut and style - it is more freehanded with various unique steps within the cut to individualize and maintain the integrity of each strands curl. We strongly encourage consulting our stylists prior to recieving a deva cut to ensure it's the correct cut for you!
Shown above is a corrective color done by our owner Jeanine on a first time client that recieved coloring services from an external source before coming to us. A sensitive subject within the hair industry is always IRL inspiration pics... WE LOVE INSPIRATION , don't get us wrong BUT there's just something about the uniqueness of a person that makes it hard to replicate a picture. theres many factors we could discuss on this topic, like how pictures often become distorted from camera angle, lighting, editing, etc & how your beautiful face, face & head shape, hair color & type & texture could be so different than the picture shown to us. for example, your hair is a majority of a color under-called "undertones"- that can make it hard and close to damaging for the hair to go from an extreme to extreme in color. So please don't lose inspiration, keep looking and researching cause we love the projects you all bring in for us, but please be mindful prior to showing us a picture that your hair may not look identical to the photo.
Brazilian Blowouts are a womans go to if frizz/overly-processed/damaged hair and maintance are the concerns. These treatments work by coating each strand of hair with keratin proteins to defrizz, lock in shine & maintain volume/texture. It lasts up to 12 weeks, with usage of brazilian blowout products & can be styled naturally or with heating tools! the misconception of stick straight & no volume smoothing treatments was flasified by the brand Brazilian Blowout & we love it for its versatility and longevity. If you are looking for more smoothing & straightening treatments or have further inquiries , stop in the salon or call us anytime!
Here at Renew we're passionate about keeping your hair healthy, especially since we know how damaging certain coloring & heating products can be. But one reason we often encourage adding on a conditioning treatment or purchase of an at home one is because of the amazing benefits they bring to the table! Conditioning treatments work of the premise of preventive care- meaning that once you begin to use these products you increase the volatility level of your hair. Generally speaking , each conditioning treatment at renew will prevent overall future damages and initiate repairs to your hair. They help to restore elasticity & moisture to the hair, and give your hair that desired soft and shiney look naturally and styled. Further consult your stylist about which treatment is best for you!
As a "colored" blonde it is of utmost importance to maintain your shade and tone of blonde in between color services & protect against fading or changing of tone. We recommend all our blonde clients to consider investing in Amika's Blonde Collection due to the benefits it will offer on a day to day basis. Bleach and toner often can fade after a couple weeks & to upkeep with your desired shade, consistent usage of a "toned" shampoo or blonde mask weekly is what would prevent orange/red unwanted tones peeking through and keeping your beautiful cool blonde intake until we see you in the salon again!! For reference, these at home products are not a substitue for consistent highlights or balayages, the products do not highlight growth or act as a coloring service but rather as a upkeeping tool until your next appointment!
A new and trending technique, balayage, has raised some questions among the consumer beauty industry as to what the differences are between highlighting and balayage & who would best benefit from each. We still recommend booking a consultation to see which service is best suited for your needs & researching each technique, but keep reading for some general answers to some of the questions raised above. First and foremost, a classic highlight is always going to utilize foils and be as close as possible to your rooted hair follicles whereas a balayage is more freehanded and "painted" onto the hair for a subtle lightening affect. The levels to both vary in the end results but for a general reference if you are looking for a subtle add of dimension but not change the overall look of your natural color , booking a consultation for a balayage may be beneficial whereas highlighting services would suit the individual that wants a more dramatic change in hair color to a blonde or lighter shade.
